PPanGGOLiN (Partitioned PanGenome Graph Of Linked Neighbors) is a bioinformatics software package dedicated to the analysis of pangenomes, that is, the complete set of genes present in a group of related organisms. Initiated in 2016, this project was developed to help microbiologists perform large-scale comparisons of bacterial genomes, in particular to study genome evolution, gene diversity, and the stable and variable regions across genomes. PPanGGOLiN uses graph-based representations to model gene co-localization relationships within genomes.
